04 : ABOUT THE EXHIBITIONFor his third exhibition at Lee-Bauwens Gallery, the artist Maurice Frydman returns to us with recent works where the use of plastic film, as a unique creative process, represents for the artist a way of evoking metaphorically the fold of the skin, its wrinkles, its tears, its scars.
The artist systematizes the use of what he calls the Matrix - Epidermis. He puts tensions, twists, folds its plastic films, allowing the color to be randomly printed on the crumpled surface of the plastic.
"My paintings on plastic that I have been doing for more than twenty years, it is the human being seen from close by, on a detail, the epidermis again but in another form. The tensions and torsions in all directions echo the folds and wrinkles, hollows and asperities of the skin."
